You won’t find a harder working rock band than The June Fiasco. Since solidifying their current lineup comprised of lead vocalist and guitarist Andrew Spark, guitarist Damian Anthony, bassist Steve Williams and drummer RJ Fraser in June of 2011, the band has been busy and they’ve created a considerable buzz with the release of their three-song debut.
“Just listening to their songs makes you wonder why these guys aren't making splashes across Canada. They have all the right chemistry.” - DT Jackson (Music Blogger)
Since recording their EP with producer Adam Sutherland (Armchair Cynics, Acres of Lions) at Infiniti Studios in their hometown of Victoria, BC, the reception has been amazing. Rock 101 Radio in Florida picked up the band’s first single ‘This Is Your Life’ and put it into rotation. The song debuted at #20 on the weekly Top 20 chart and stayed there for 7 weeks before peaking at #1.
“This Is Your Life’ definitely has radio potential with it's anthematic chorus. It bounces through the ears and you will find yourself tapping along. [The June Fiasco] know what goes into writing songs that don't need a second listen to appreciate.” - DT Jackson (Music Blogger)
The June Fiasco were also selected as the Band of the Month for March on Victoria's modern rock radio station 91.3 The Zone. The station put 'This Is Your Life' into heavy rotation and the response has been overwhelming.
The band recently released their debut music video for ‘This Is Your Life' and are already in talks with the same production team about making another.
The June Fiasco was recently selected as one of only nine bands chosen out of over twelve thousand entries to advance to the final round of the Hard Rock Rising competition for a chance to open for Bruce Springsteen at the Hard Rock Calling festival at Hyde Park in London, UK.
The June Fiasco are currently writing songs for their first full-length release and are co-writing with Jeff Johnson (Adelitas Way, Faber Drive, Jet Black Stare) The band plans to tour in support of their EP release throughout 2012 which will include some festival dates.
The most recent addition of lead guitarist Jeff Richardson gives The June Fiasco an in-your-face guitar edge that only a five-piece rock group with three guitarists could deliver, something akin to bands such as the Foo Fighters who The June Fiasco cite as a major influence.
So, if you haven’t heard of The June Fiasco yet, don’t worry, you will soon.
